PRESCHOOL THROUGH KINDERGARTEN AGES OF MOTOR DEVELOPMENT THROUGH GYMNASTICS
GYM MINI PROGRAM
The Gym Mini Program (1-5
years) is divided into 4 age groups
that help the child transition from a parent-assisted class with
little structure to a “solo” class.
Focus is
on developing motor skills, practicing early learning skills
and having FUN on our
brightly-colored, mini-sized equipment!
We are not
training for the Olympics but instead helping the child learn
and grow in a safe and encouraging environment.
RUG BUGS
(1 year to 2 years 11 months) 45-minute class each week $124/4-week month.
Our Rug Bugs rule the
gym!
Your
child
will
explore exciting equipment
and activities.
Children
will climb through tunnels,
roll down the giant “cheese”, jump, swing, stack,
sort, and play
with new friends!
The class is a semi-structured environment with a beginning and ending group
activity designed to instruct and introduce listening and
following directions.
MINI GYM BUGS (3 years to 3 years 5 months) 45-minute class each week $142/4-week month. Our first step toward going “solo”….The Mini Gym Bug class begins preparation for the “solo” experience. Longer segments of structured activity are introduced. Parents provide guidance as needed but tend to play more of a background role as the child learns to follow and stay with the group. In this class we set up obstacle courses that allow the child to work with the instructor on a skill and then opportunities for them to practice on their own as they move through the different activities. The target teaching ratio for this class is 6:1.
MINI GYM MINIS
(3 years 6 months to 4 years 5 months) 45-minute
class each week $142/4-week month.
For children entering
the Mini Gym Mini class, this will be their first class without
assistance from their parent.
Students
will continue to practice listening, following simple directions
and taking turns with other students.
The format in
this class focuses a little bit more on instruction and giving
students simple corrections to assist with
skill mastery.
Children will
move through an obstacle course where they learn a skill with
the instructor and then have many opportunities to swing, climb,
jump, develop strength and coordination by practicing activities
on their own.The target teaching ratio for this
class is 6:1.
JUMPIN' GYM MINIS (4 years 6 months to 5 years 11 months) 45-minute class each week $142/4-week month. Children entering the Jumpin’ Gym Mini class will be given more opportunities for skill mastery. As children develop they can begin to grasp more concepts and make corrections as they learn basic gymnastic shapes and skills. In this class children are being introduced to skills they will work on in the School-Aged Level 1 program. Children will move through an obstacle course where they learn a skill with the instructor and then have many opportunities to swing, climb, jump, develop strength and coordination by practicing activities on their own. The target teaching ratio for this class is 6:1.
